Please tell us more about your business. How did you start? Who do you work with? What are some of your offerings? What do you love about it?
XVI is my skincare brand, created to make daily routines feel elevated and intentional. I started it because I wanted products that are organic, effective, and feel good to use. Our flagship product is AURORA, a oil based serum that brightens and nourishes your skin. I work with a small team and collaborate with creators who share our vision of mindful self-care.
What I love most is seeing people enjoy products that actually make them feel cared for, while also supporting our Good Karma initiative.
Achieving a balance between personal life and business demands is a hot topic. What strategies have you found effective for maintaining harmony in your life?
For me, balance comes down to being intentional with my time and energy.
I set clear boundaries between work and personal life, and I make sure to carve out moments that recharge me, whether that’s traveling, reading, or spending time with friends. I also try to prioritize what truly matters each day, both in business and personally, so I can show up fully in both areas.
It’s not always perfect, but being mindful about it makes a big difference.
How do you leverage community and collaboration in your business strategy? We're keen to explore how female entrepreneurs are strengthening ties and creating synergies with other businesses and community members.
Community and collaboration are really important to me with XVI.
I love working with creators, wellness experts, and other brands who share our values, it’s all about learning from each other and creating something meaningful together. Supporting fellow female entrepreneurs and building a network where we can share ideas and encouragement has been such a rewarding part of the journey.
Failure is often seen as a taboo subject, but it can be a powerful teacher. Could you share an experience where you faced failure and how you turned it into a learning opportunity?
With XVI, I’ve definitely had my fair share of failures; like a launch that didn’t go as planned or a partnership that didn’t work out. I try not to let it get me down and instead see it as a lesson: what can I do differently next time? Those moments have taught me a lot, made me more resilient, and actually helped the brand grow stronger.
Every entrepreneur faces hurdles along the way. Can you talk about a significant obstacle you've overcome and what you learned from it?
One of the biggest hurdles with XVI has been juggling all the moving parts on my own; product development, brand, and connecting with the right people. It’s definitely been a learning curve, but it’s taught me to prioritize what matters most, trust my instincts, and stay patient with the process.
What advice or tips would you have for other female founders starting their businesses?
My advice? Just act on it. Don’t overthink. Just start, learn as you go, and trust yourself.
